COLUMBUS — The Buckeyes were able to overcome the shock of losing star quarterback Braxton Miller Saturday for the 42-7 win over San Diego State.

The junior quarterback, who is considered to be one of the top candidates for the Heisman Trophy, was sandwiched in the first quarter, his helmet popping off during the play.

He suffered an apparent knee injury, but returned to the field later. He did not however return to the game.

The Buckeyes did not suffer without him.

Just like in last week’s game against Buffalo, Ohio State got off to a big, early lead, holding off the Aztecs 35-0 at the half.

The Buckeyes will travel to the west coast next Saturday to take on California in Berkeley. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. ET.
