LAKEWOOD, OH — The Browns kick off the regular season Sunday, and with the game comes the new bag policy at FirstEnergy Stadium.

This year, the NFL is prohibiting backpacks, bags and purses. Instead, the league is allowing clear, ziplock bags or a small clutch as an alternative.

Thursday night, several ladies against the new policy gathered together to make sure their ziplock bags were ready for game day.

The ladies held a purse party, using duct tape, stickers and decals to add some flair to their NFL approved bags.

“The NFL is telling us that an acceptable alternative to carrying a purse is to carry a ziplock bag. So I don’t want to be boring and carry a ziplock bag with nothing on it. So we decided to be a little creative, and kind of decorate them up so we have a fancy purse for game day,” said Jen Verrillo, who is against the new bag policy.

Verrillo said she will be part of a tailgate party Sunday to bring awareness to the new bag policy and hopefully get NFL officials to take a closer look at the new rules.
