COLUMBUS —  Year two of the Urban Meyer era opened with a win Saturday afternoon in Columbus as the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes rolled past Buffalo, 40-20.

Braxton Miller threw two touchdown passes and Jordan Hall ran for two more scores to help OSU to the victory.

The Buckeyes got off to a quick start, leading 23-0 heading into the second quarter, but the Bulls picked up the pace to make it 30-20 in the third quarter.

Urban Meyer stressed all week that he wanted his players to have a better start than a year ago against Miami University.

Ohio State will take on San Diego State next Saturday in Columbus. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m.
