STOW, Ohio — Police in Stow are investigating an alleged attempted abduction of a 6-year-old boy from a camp site.

The incident happened Friday at the Silver Springs Camp Site on Young Road.

Police say the victim told his parents he was approached by a white male subject who told him that he was going to take the child to his truck so he could take him home. The boy said the man picked him up. That’s when the child bit the man and was able to break free and run.

The victim followed an older cousin to the Summer Sunset Blast to watch a movie. The cousin said the young boy was not supposed to leave the camp site, so he left the movie to go back and tell his parents where he was. That is when he says the male subject approached him.

The child was not able to tell police the exact location where the attempted abduction happened.

Police say the male subject is about 6-feet tall, thin build, approximately 50-years-old, clean shaven and wearing glasses.

Police say there was a second male subject approximately 5’7″ tall, with brown hair.

No vehicle description was given.

Stow Police say they stepped up security in the area on Saturday.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Stow Police Department at 330-689-5734
