Canton Shooting Victim Identified; Suspect Search Continues

CANTON, Ohio — One person is dead and one of the suspects injured following a shooting in Canton, just after midnight, Monday.

Canton police said the victim is Jamar Johnson, 30.

They said he had a confrontation with two other men who tried to rob an apartment in the 1900 block of 6th Street NE.

One of the suspects was shot in the leg; he was taken to the hospital.

Charges are expected to be filed soon.

The other suspect is believed to be driving a purple Chevy two-door pickup truck with license plate: FYD 7927
