CLEVELAND– Just in time for back to school, the Cleveland Division of Police school safety plan was revealed on Friday.

Students in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District head back on Monday.

Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath said, “With school starting on Monday, we are focusing our attention on the schools and we will work closely with the school district police and all of our community partners for the safety of our children in and out of the classroom.”

Officials said a combination of police presence, effective response to incidents, community policing efforts, curfew sweeps and community outreach programs are necessary elements of the security plan.
