Man Rescued After Falling Down Cliff

KIRTLAND, OH — One person was rescued after falling down a cliff Wednesday evening.

Rescue crews responded to Chapin Forest Reservation near the Chillicothe Road entrance around 8:00 p.m.

Officials were able to retrieve the male, who was lying on his back at the bottom of the cliff. He was taken to the Hillcrest Hospital with minor injuries.

Officials with the Kirtland Fire Department said the male, who is between 18 and 22, was in the restricted area.

Alcohol and drugs did not play a factor in the accident.

There have been two fatalities in the area, according to fire officials. They tell Fox 8 that accidents like this are becoming more common in this area.
