LORAIN, Ohio — The Lorain Fire Department told Fox 8 News repairs to a high pressure six-inch gas main have been made.

A construction crew working on roads struck it Monday around 10:45 a.m., causing a major gas leak.

It happened at 14th and Reid avenues and prompted the evacuation of a one-block radius, displacing about 20-25 residents.

Just before 2 p.m., those residents were allowed back home.

Some were taken to the Lorain Fire Department for a time to wait for family members to pick them up.
