Cleveland Public Power Warns of Scam

CLEVELAND — Cleveland Public Power is warning customers about a recent scam.

According to CPP, several customers received telephone calls Saturday from a man posing as a representative of CPP’s “Disconnection or Termination” Department.

The man told customers they must pay $400 over the phone to prevent interruption of service.

Customers reported the scam to Cleveland Public Power. The company is looking into the scam and asking customers to ignore the calls.

Cleveland Public Power will provide updates on its website and through its social media sites.
