SOLON, Ohio– The job market is heating up in the local manufacturing industry.

A Solon company is looking to add 100 temporary jobs at $10 an hour. Representatives from the Beachwood office of Adecco will be screening candidates at their Richmond Road location on Monday, August 12 and Tuesday, August 13.

Recruiter Katie Craig wouldn’t say which company Adecco is representing, however, she did confirm it’s long been regarded as a great place to work.

“They train them; they give them a great opportunity and then we have people that started as temps that have been there for ten, 15 years,” said Craig.

Recruiters are hoping to find 300 job candidates from which their Solon client can choose.

Those who don’t qualify could be placed in other positions at other Northeast Ohio companies.

“They need at least six months of manufacturing experience and it has to be recent,” she said. “We want to make sure they’ve worked in the manufacturing setting before so they’re comfortable going right in and starting.”

Craig told Call for Action Reporter Lorrie Taylor the jobs require physical strength and the ability to stand for long periods of time.

“That’s anything in a factory. That’s anything on the production line. It’s anything assembly,” she said, as she described the environment in which future employees might find themselves.
