CLEVELAND  — In their first preseason game of the year, the Cleveland Browns first team looked sharp, crisp and methodical on their way to a 27-19 win over the St. Louis Rams at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Brandon Weeden looked comfortable in Norv Turner’s offense, finishing 10-13 for 112 yards, 1 touchdown and a 127.7 QB rating.

Running back Dion Lewis, who got the start in place of the injured Trent Richardson, ran the ball with a purpose, running the ball 4 times for 12 yards and catching 3 passes for 22 yards.

The Browns first team defense held the Rams scoreless and even forced a turnover.

The Browns special teams also shined. Travis Benjamin returned the 91-yard punt return for a touchdown, which gave the Browns a 17-0 lead.

The Browns return to FirstEnergy Stadium next Thursday when they host the Detroit Lions in the Great Lakes Classic. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
