CLEVELAND — Cleveland Indians ace Justin Masterson was able to outlast Texas Rangers ace Yu Darvish on Saturday night as the Indians won their third straight game.

Darvish’s only mistake came in the first inning on the second pitch when Michael Bourn homered to right field, his 4th of the season.

It was the only run of the night.

Yu Darvish held the Indians to just three total hits, but he was out-pitched by Justin Masterson, who allowed five hits in just over 7 innings and struck out 8 batters.

It was Masterson’s 12th win of the season.

The Indians bullpen did not give up a hit and Chris Perez was credited with his 14th save of the season.

The Indians will go for the series sweep at Progressive Field on Sunday. The first pitch is at 1:05 p.m.
