Calabrese Indicted on New Charges in Corruption Scandal

CLEVELAND– A key player in the Cuyahoga County corruption scandal has been indicted on new charges.

Anthony Calabrese now faces state charges of running a criminal enterprise, as well as conspiracy, bribery and theft.

The indictment alleges that Calabrese arranged payments of $70,000 to former Parma school board member, J. Kevin Kelley.

In return, it says, Calabrese received inside information on the anticipated purchase of the former Ameritrust complex.

Prosecutors will request that Calabrese be arraigned before he reports to federal prison to begin serving a 9-year sentence.
