Man Hit, Killed by Train in Geneva

GENEVA, OH -- A 58-year-old man was struck and killed by a train Sunday morning.

According to Ashtabula County Coroner Investigator Jim Baehr, the victim was walking on an overpass over S.R. 20 near West Main Court a little before 12:00 p.m. as the CSX train approached.

Baehr told Fox 8 that the train blew its whistle. The man attempted to move when he tripped and fell into the train's path.

The man's identity has not been released.

According to officials, alcohol was a factor in the accident.
