CANTON — The National Football League and the football world continue to distance themselves from murder suspect and former NFL player Aaron Hernandez.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame, located in Canton, has removed a photo of the former New England Patriots star after several visitors complained about the picture, according to CNN.

The 2010 photo of Hernandez scoring a touchdown was an award-winning image from the Annual Hall of Fame Photo Contest.

Hernandez is charged with the June 17 shooting death of Odin Lloyd. The former tight end pleaded not guilty to one count of murder and five gun-related charges.

The patriots released Hernandez from the team after his arrest last month.
