ELYRIA, Ohio — Police officers were called to an Elyria neighborhood after two young boys were found playing alone outside.

According to the Elyria Police Department, a 2-year-old had a soiled diaper and no shoes and a 5-year-old with autism was fully clothed.  Both were dirty.

A woman called police on Sunday around 8:10 a.m. when she saw the boys running around in the area of Broad street.

Officers canvassed the neighborhood and located Herman Shreves in his home, who they said was sleeping.

Shreves confirmed both children were staying at his house in his care.

He was cited with endangering children.
