DOYLESTOWN, Ohio -- A helicopter hoisted a special tree-trimming saw with multiple 24-inch rotary blades high into the air Monday, creating quite a spectacle in the process.
It took off around 11 a.m. from Silver Fox Drive in Doylestown.
The operation was part of FirstEnergy's vegetation management program and was intended to trim trees near a high-voltage transmission line.
FirstEnergy explained the saw cuts quickly and cleanly, slicing tree limbs and then sending them straight to the ground with an air blast from the rotors of the helicopter.
The transmission line connects FirstEnergy's Sammis Plant along the Ohio River to a large substation in the Wadsworth area.
