BEACHWOOD, OH -- A Cleveland area teen received a very personal, yet very public shoutout from one of the nation's most influential women.

Jada Campbell, 15, of Beachwood, likes to keep up with what’s going on through People Magazine online.

When she learned the magazine was inviting readers to ask First Lady Michelle Obama a question, Jada knew exactly what she would ask.

Some have said Jada resembles the First Lady.

"I sent her a picture of me with a dress like her and me looking like her and I asked her, do I sort of look like her,” Jada said.

To her surprise, The First Lady responded, and this was no standard form letter. The response was personal and in a video online for all to see.

"I saw your picture, you are gorgeous. And, to the extent that anyone compares you to me, I am flattered. As long as you are working as hard on the inside as you are on the outside then I take the compliment,” Michelle Obama said.

Jada couldn’t believe the First Lady was talking directly to her.

"I was so shocked and excited. I was shaking the whole time,” she said.

The First Lady gave Jada more words of encouragement.

“You and me, we're sisters in power, leadership -- you and me, Jada. Change the world. I expect big things from you,” The First Lady added.

Jada is in the Young Scholar's program and has an opportunity to attend The Ohio State University on scholarship. She hopes to become a plastic surgeon.  She said the First Lady is encouraging her to do just that.
