(CNN) — Don’t forget the mustard for your barbecue — but most of you won’t, according to a 2012 study.

According to the numbers, mustard earned a staggering $508 million last year in the U.S.

This figure is up 11 percent from 2007 making it the fastest-growing condiment.

Experts believe the increase in popularity can be attributed to the fact that mustard is a naturally healthy condiment enjoyed by people from around the world.

National Mustard Day is Aug. 3.
