Body in Car Prompts Hazmat Response

WESTLAKE, Ohio — Emergency crews responded to a hazmat incident on an undeveloped street in Westlake Thursday.

According to the Westlake Police Department, a body was found in a car off of Bradley Road around 10:24 a.m.

An investigation revealed there were indicators of a possible hazardous material incident which prompted the response of the Westlake Fire Department and the Westshore Hazmat Team.

The Westshore Enforcement Bureau’s Hazardous Devices Team was also on the scene.

The location was isolated and no evacuation was necessary.

Other details were not released.

The Cuyahoga County medical examiner will determine the manner and cause of death.
