CLEVELAND -- A speed limit change went into effect Monday, allowing drivers to go a bit faster on some rural sections of state highways.

It was raised to 70 mph on I-71 just south of the Cuyahoga County line and on I-90 in Lake County.

Portions of I-77 and I-76 are also included in the speed limit change.

Drivers in those areas were once restricted to traveling 65 mph.

The Ohio Turnpike speed limit was raised to 70 mph in April 2011.
