CLEVELAND– It’s a new way to keep an eye on people: The Cleveland Police Department now has Skywatch.

Police say it’s a surveillance tower which will be deployed during large-scale events like the Star-Spangled Spectacular in Public Square Monday night.

On Cleveland police’s Facebook page, it says Skywatch can assist with monitoring crowds.

It raises up to 30 ft and is equipped with cameras, lights and a PA system.

Tonight’s annual event on Public Square is free and includes a concert by the Cleveland Orchestra, followed by fireworks.
