Water Safety Stressed During Summer Months

AKRON -- The higher the temperature, the bigger the daytime crowd at Reservoir Park Pool in Akron.

During the daytime, the pool is filled with as many as 250 kids, all trying to stay cool.

For the smallest kids, there is a rule at the pool: an adult must be near them at all times.

The Ohio Department of Health is stressing that parents start teaching swimming to children as young as four.

Drowning remains the second most common cause of death for children under the age of 14.
