Coyote Dens Close Part of Local Park Trails
MORELAND HILLS, Ohio –The village of Moreland Hills has closed a portion of the trails in Forest Ridge Preserve due to coyotes.
The Moreland Hills Police Department posted on its Facebook page Sunday that two coyote dens with young pups had been located in the park. The village also has received calls about two close encounters in the preserve.
The village has shut down a portion of the trails in the affected area, according to police. Those that have been shut down have orange fencing across them with information posted about the animals.
The maintenance entrance in the Quail Hollow Development also was closed.
Visitors are asked to keep all dogs on leashes while visiting the park. The trail and entrance will reopen once the pups leave the dens, according to police.
