SOUTHINGTON, Ohio — A 28-year-old man is in custody following a double stabbing that left one person dead and one injured in Southington.

The stabbings happened around 10:30 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 5400 block on SR 305.

The suspect is currently being held in the Trumbull County Jail. Fox 8 News is not releasing his name because he has not been charged. He is expected to appear in court early this week.

Major Tom Stewart, of the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office, said a male was found dead near the front porch of the home.

A female, believed to be the suspect’s mother, was found near the roadway.

She had been stabbed multiple times and was taken by helicopter to a Cleveland hospital.

The Trumbull County Homicide Unit and sheriff’s office is investigating.
