Man Shot, Killed at Gas Station

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit is investigating a deadly shooting at a gas station early Sunday morning.

According to police, officers arrived at the Marathon gas station at E. 40th Street and St. Clair Avenue around 2:30 a.m. and found a man shot in the leg inside his car.

Are’es D. Richards, 20,  was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

According to the report, Richards was seen sitting in a black Dodge Durango in the gas station parking lot. When someone went to check on him, they found him unresponsive. Blood was also observed on the door of the SUV.

Officers searched the area but did not locate any suspects.

Police are still investigating.
