Fox 8’s Stefani Schaefer’s husband, Roger, has been recovering since last April after falling 12 feet off of scaffolding and suffering a serious brain injury.

Stefani has been sharing her journey with viewers on the air and on her Facebook fan page.

Schaefer on Monday thanked viewers, family and friends for their support after her most recent update: that Roger was moved to a long-term care facility on Wednesday to continue treatment for his traumatic brain injury.

Her post is as follows:

“Thank you for all your comments from my June 6th posting. I have said all along, with the help of all of you, my family, my Fox 8 Family and my friends, I am starting to feel human again… I am starting to look at life the way I used to. The last year, life was still going on around me… but I felt numb and felt like I was just going through the motions. Going to work everyday and being with so…me of the nicest and most talented people has really pushed me – in such a good way. I am smiling and laughing again… even on the days when I just couldn’t image smiling – let alone laughing. Thank you a million times over for all of your support this past year. I love you guys!!! HUGS!! Enjoy your evening!”
