STERLING, Virginia — A woman was shot and killed by a Loudon County sheriff’s deputy after she came at him with a knife in a Costco store Wednesday afternoon.
A manager said the woman was an employee in food preparation, and began to act erratically as her shift was ending, according to The Washington Post. She then grabbed a knife from a serving station and began to make “strange movements.”
Deputies first tried using a taser to subdue the woman, but fired when she continued to advance.
A second deputy was wounded, but is expected to recover.
