JACKSON TWP., Ohio — Hundreds of American flags will fly at a street corner in Jackson Township to honor military heroes during this Memorial Day weekend.

It’s part of the second annual Field of Honor, Field of Heroes. As many as 1,500 flags will be posted outside the Jackson Township Safety Center through Monday so the community can honor their own loved ones or personal heroes.

Some of the flags bear names of individuals, and flags will be for sale through the weekend.

The event is being hosted by the Rotary Club of Jackson Township. Close to 100 volunteers posted the flags Friday.

Money raised by the purchase of the flags will help the township’s parks.
