It's lights, camera, action in Cleveland this week as filming for Captain America: The Winter Soldier begins.

Filming is expected to span a two-month period. Most of the filming will take place in the Cleveland area.

Monday's action is happening near East 6th Street and Rockwell Avenue. Sources say a car chase and explosion will be filmed this morning.

In fact, just after 11:30 a.m., Cleveland police warned in a news release that shots would be fired over the next half hour, making things very loud downtown.

There will be a number of road closures, detours and restrictions as filming gets underway.

"I'm not gonna sit here and tell you there won't be minor inconveniences," said James Muhic, Commissioner for the Cleveland Division of Traffic. "But overall, it's a big treat for people when they go to a movie and say, 'Hey, that's in my city.' "

"We've worked closely with the traffic engineering people hired by the film production company. We've mandated everything we can to make it go smoothly," Muhic said. "We've also stipulated that we could come back to them and say, 'We need more.' "
