(CNN) — Oxbow, a longshot ridden by Gary Stevens, won the 138th running of the Preakness Stakes on Saturday.

The winner, which had 15-1 odds, led from wire-to-wire at Pimlico Race Course in Maryland.

Race favorite Orb’s hopes for a Triple Crown were dashed. Starting from the difficult rail position, Orb could not catch Oxbow down the stretch and finished fourth.

Itsmyluckday finished second and Mylute was third.

Orb was ridden by Joel Rosario, who guided the 3-year-old to victory in the Kentucky Derby two weeks ago.

The third leg of the Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes, is set for June 8 in New York.
