Motorcyclist Killed After Struck by Car

WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — A Willoughby man was killed after losing control of his motorcycle and being struck by a car.

According to Willoughby Police, James D. Martin, 67, lost control of his motorcycle while traveling westbound on Kirtland Road just before 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators said he was thrown from the motorcycle and was sitting in the roadway when a witness stopped to help him.

Police said Martin was then hit by an oncoming car and dragged off the road. Martin was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 74-year-old driver of the car has not been charged
