LODI, Ohio — The Lodi Police Department warned residents about a potential scam and asked people to keep an eye out for suspicious activity.

A person living on Young Drive told police she was approached by a male and a female on Monday who said Columbia Gas was no longer providing service.

They allegedly instructed the woman to “sign up with them.”

No vehicle was seen and it appeared the people were going door to door.

The Lodi Police Department noted solicitation is not allowed and because the people would not give information about their “company,” there may have been ill intentions.

The people were wearing blue Polo shirts at the time.

Anyone who sees them should contact the police at (330) 725-6631 so officers may investigate.
