ELYRIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Alcohol and drugs are suspected factors in a crash that killed a 47-year-old man Wednesday night in Elyria Township.

The accident happened at around 7:40 p.m. on Albrecht Road, west of West Ridge Road.

Troopers say Michael Lazorcak, of Elyria, was driving westbound in his 2000 Chevy Malibu, when he went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole. He was partially ejected, a news release said.

Lazorcak was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers say he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs are suspected.
