Woman Robbed at Gunpoint in Broad Daylight

AKRON — Police are looking for two men they say robbed a woman at gunpoint Friday afternoon.

The woman was walking home from work just before 2:00 p.m. on Sumner Street when a gold minivan stopped and a passenger followed her on foot. The man pointed a gun at her and demanded her purse. The suspect then got back in the gold minivan and took off.

The purse contained over $600 in cash, a cell phone, a checkbook and miscellaneous I.D. cards, according to Akron Police.

The suspects are two black males. One is described as 5’10” -5’11”, 150 lbs. and was wearing an Oklahoma City Thunder baseball hat, black t-shirt and khaki shorts.

The second suspect is 5’5″ – 5’8″, 190 lbs., was wearing all black clothing and had multiple tattoos on his face and arms.

The suspects were in a gold Plymouth Voyager.
