CINCINNATI, Ohio — A student at a Roman Catholic school in Cincinnati was in serious condition after he pulled out a gun and shot himself Monday morning, according to the
Los Angeles Times.

Officials say the shooting was an apparent suicide attempt.

The student, who has not been identified, was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Police would not say what type of weapon was involved.

La Salle High School said that the students were safe and were “being dismissed into the custody of their parents due to an attempted suicide involving one student,” according to the school’s website.

About 700 students attend the all-male parochial school.
