It’s been one year since the husband of Fox 8’s Stefani Schaefer suffered a horrific accident.

Roger is recovering from a traumatic brain injury he suffered last year when he fell off of scaffolding.

It’s been a year of ups and downs, and Stefani has been sharing her journey with viewers on the air and on her Facebook fan page.

The accident has left Roger with severe aphasia, meaning that he can’t name objects – simple objects like a pen, paper, a book or colors.

He overcame a bout of bacterial meningitis in January, followed by surgery. There have been reports of great progress along with steps back in his recovery.

Stefani has shared memories of her husband and kids from before the accident, and made sure to regularly thank viewers and friends who have helped along the way.

Below is Stefani’s latest post to her Facebook fans.

“April 27…. One year ago today was Roger’s accident. I truly mean when I say it …. ALL of you have helped me and my family through this year. I can’t thank you enough!”
