PARMA, Ohio — Parma residents were treated to the gift of education on Saturday at the city’s annual Safety Fair.

The local fire department, police department and city council worked together to put on the event at the Parma Justice Center.

A flag-raising, grease fire education demonstration, tours of the police station and K-9 demonstrations were part of the program.

The SWAT/Bomb Unit, Motorcycle Patrol and the Cleveland Metroparks Mounted Police made an appearance.

“This is a great annual event that Parma and area residents really look forward to,” Parma Mayor Tim DeGeeter said. “It is educational and fun for the whole family.”

DeGeeter attended the event and was available to speak with residents.

People could also take advantage of medication disposal and shredding.
