CLEVELAND, Ohio — All workers with the Republic Services in the Cleveland and Elyria offices are expected to return to work Monday.

Hundreds of Northeast Ohio workers took part in a sympathy strike last week to support their peers in Youngstown. The Youngstown workers have been on strike for three weeks.

According to Republic Services spokesperson Kelly Hancock, the company is working to service all outstanding customers and are developing an operational schedule that will return customers to regular collection.

In a statement issued Sunday, Hancock said:

“We apologize for the inconvenience this situation has caused and appreciate your understanding over the past week.”
