17-Year-Old Shot to Death

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 17-year-old male was shot to death on Cleveland’s West Side Friday night.

According to Cleveland police, officers were called to the 1300 block of West 91st Street at about 6 p.m. Friday. When they arrived, they found Michael Whitaker with gunshot wounds to his chest and back, said police.

He was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, but died shortly after midnight Saturday.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicates Whitaker was home with friends when witnesses said he went outside for an unknown reason. Several shots were then heard, but when witnesses went outside, they didn’t see a shooter.
