CLEVELAND — The honor, prestige and economic benefit of hosting a major movie shoot comes with a small price.

Clevelanders will have to deal with road closures from May 18 to June 28 while Captain America: The Winter Soldier is made in town.

Measures have been taken to keep traffic flowing and Cleveland police and traffic controllers will monitor key locations.

The first closures are scheduled to begin Thursday and last through May 26, weather permitting.

Rockwell Avenue between East Ninth Street and West Mall Drive will be closed, although one lane will allow parking garage access between East Ninth and East Sixth streets.

Superior may be used as an alternate route.

East Sixth Street will also be closed between Superior Avenue and Euclid Avenue, with certain accommodations for nearby parking garages.

West 49th Street may be used to access Edgewater Park and the marinas north of the Shoreway.

Road closures may also impact RTA riders.  Details may be found by clicking here or by calling (216) 621-9500.
