AKRON, Ohio — Akron police confirm they have made an arrest in connection with the shooting death earlier this month of a man at a local McDonald’s.

John Lehman, 28, of Akron, was shot to death while taking out the trash outside of the McDonald’s Restaurant at 390 W. Market St., on April 6.

Akron police now say they have charged 21-year-old Johnnl Lewis, of Akron, with aggravated robbery and murder.

Lt. Rick Edwards says Lewis was identified through multiple tips that investigators received after offering a reward.

Police say Lehman was taking out the trash when he was confronted by a gunman at the back door of the McDonald’s.

Lewis is expected to be in court on Thursday.
