Woman Killed, Man Injured in Shooting

CLEVELAND — Cleveland Police are investigating a shooting that left a woman dead and a man injured .

It happened in the 4200 block of East 134th Street around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

When police arrived they found Regina Meal, 20, and Charles Elder, 21, both of Cleveland, with gunshot wounds.

Meal was shot in the head and back. Elder was shot in the leg.

Both were rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center. Meal was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.

Investigators believe the victims were walking to the store when someone in a red hooded sweatshirt opened fire and then fled on foot.
