Fox 8’s Stefani Schaefer provided an update on her husband’s condition on Thursday.

Roger is recovering from a traumatic brain injury he suffered last year when he fell off of scaffolding.

Stefani has been sharing her journey with viewers on the air and on her Facebook fan page.

Her post on Thursday is as follows:

“Thank you to those of you who are asking about Roger during my last few posts. I appreciate your concern. I wish I had better news… not much good to report. He still is just not with us mentally…. he doesn’t make sense when he speaks and just last night I mentioned the kids to him and he said he doesn’t have kids and that he never really wanted to have children. Just ripped out my heart. I firmly believe that he just does not know what he is saying. I know he would never want to hurt any of our feelings. They are just words that come out and have no meaning. But still … it hurts beyond belief. Especially hearing this kind of talk every day. It just doesn’t get better. So… that is where we are right now. Heartbroken, sad and many times, not sure what to do next… other than continue to keep on going and taking this all in day by day. I am bringing the kids to see him on Saturday. It’s been awhile since they’ve visited him because of all the infections etc. I’ll let you all know how it goes next week. Thanks for the continued prayers and support!! We are 2 weeks away from the year mark. Our hopes and dreams were that we would be in a much different place by now. In the meantime, from the advice of many doctors, family, close friends and even my mother in law, my focus has shifted quite a bit now…. on keeping the kids happy and busy – and juggling life as a one-parent household. As many of you know and live everyday… it’s not easy and can be overwhelming. Pressing forward. Again, thank you for asking. Blessings and hugs… have a good night friends!!!”
