Bunny Bait

This delicious snack provides the perfect combination of salty and sweet. Little “bunnies” will be hot on your trail once this addicting snack is created, and it couldn’t be simpler.

Ingredients:

  • Tastykake Coconut Hippity Hop Kandy Kakes
  • Popcorn
  • Spring colored chocolate candies

Instructions:

  1. First you’ll want to pop your favorite bag of popcorn, or you can simply pick up a bag of already popped popcorn from your local grocer.
  2. While your popcorn is popping, take a box of Tastykake’s sweet Easter treat, Coconut Hippity Hops, and use a sharp knife to finely chop each circle into bite-size pieces.
  3. Now you can start combining all of the ingredients.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together the popped popcorn, chopped Hippity Hop Kandy Kakes, and add in some pastel colored chocolate candies – to give it that extra touch of spring.
  5. Make sure all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  6. You can serve in the bowl, curled up watching your favorite Easter movie or serve up in personalized bags to share with classmates, co-workers and neighbors.
  7. It’s all about the little details. We chose small, clear bags that will showcase our Easter goodie in all its glory and finished off each bag with a cute ribbon that really makes it feel special.

 Hippity Hop Kake Pops

Kake pops are all the rage right now, and basically the concept is combining the ingredients of cake with the handheld convenience of a lollipop.

Ingredients:

  • Tastykake Coconut Hippity Hop Kandy Kakes
  • Squeezable icing
  • Wooden skewers

Instructions:

  1. With your skewers, begin to puncture the sides of each Hippity Hop circle.
  2. Our skewers were a little long, so we trimmed them before the show. Depending on the size of your skewers at home, you may need to do the same.
  3. For extra stability, we’re inserting two skewers side by side.
  4. Once you have the skewers firmly in place, lay each circle on a flat surface. Now the real fun begins.
  5. Using spring colored icing (you can make homemade or purchase the squeezable kind, like we did), squeeze the icing onto the kake circle, making fun spring-inspired shapes – Easter eggs, bunny ears, baby chicks – whatever you’re comfortable drawing. You can even do fun patterns, such as polka dots or chevron stripes.
  6. Let each circle sit for a while to let the icing firm up, so it won’t run down the cake.
  7. Once they’re ready, they can be served standing up. We’re using a cute silverware caddy to display our finished Hippity Hop Kake Pops today.
  8. These are also delicious served frozen, so feel free to make these up the night before and keep in the freezer until time to serve.

 Easter Basket Kake Cones

Ingredients:

  • Tastykake Coconut Hippity Hop Kandy Kakes
  • Favorite Ice Cream cone flavor – can be cake, sugar, waffle – whatever you prefer.
  • Jelly Beans
  • Green (usually apple flavor) licorice sticks

Instructions:

  1. Using a sharp knife or a cookie-cutter, cut a smaller circle out of the Tastykake Hippity Hops and then shave off the top layer of chocolate to expose the coconut filling. The coconut filling is going to serve as our nest for the “eggs”. The smaller circle needs to be able to fit perfectly inside the top of your ice cream cone, so the exposed coconut can be seen above the surface.
  2. Next, using that same knife, cut two holes on either side of the cone.
  3. You’re going to use these holes to place each end of one licorice stick that will serve as the basket handle.
  4. Last step; add your “eggs”. Place a few jellybeans on top of the coconut filling, and voila! Adorable little Easter Baskets filled with deliciousness.

 Spring S’mores

Ingredients:

  • Graham crackers
  • Tastykake Coconut Hippity Hop Kandy Kakes
  • Seasonal Marshmallow treats (aka “Peeps”)

Instructions:

  1. First, break your graham crackers in half.
  2. On one half, you’ll place a Tastykake Coconut Hippity Hop circle.
  3. Top the Hippity Hop with a springtime delicacy, these adorable marshmallow bunnies and chicks.
  4. Then you’ll sandwich everything together with the other graham cracker half, and you’ll want to pop them in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds to get the marshmallow and chocolate to melt.
  5. Through the magic of television, we have the completed Spring S’mores dispayed here. They will look adorable displayed on a tray like this for dessert after Easter supper, or you can bag of the ingredients and to put inside your kids’ Easter basket this year.
