WASHINGTON, D.C.-- A mom is fired for selling girl scout cookies.

WTTG said the mom was trying to help her 12-year-old daughter by selling cookies at her job at Bon Appetit on American University's campus. She said she's sold cookies there the past three years.

But, last month, her boss fired her for doing it.

Management accuse her of gross misconduct by soliciting and operating a personal cash business selling girl scout cookies over the counter. They said that violates company policy.
