CLEVELAND — The Ohio Supreme Court is expected to appoint a visiting judge to preside over Cleveland Councilman Zack Reed’s OVI case.

The court is being asked to name a visiting judge after all the judges at Cleveland Municipal Court recused themselves from the case.

The case had been assigned to Judge Pinkey Carr, but she formally recused herself during Reed’s pretrial Tuesday, saying the councilman had previously endorsed her.

Reed was arrested on the OVI charge March 5.

He told police he had two beers and Listerine. Police said he failed field sobriety tests.
Reed has returned his work, and has declined to say if he is seeking treatment.

He has two previous OVI arrests.
