$3 Bowl Goes for $2.2 Million at Auction

NEW YORK– A rare Chinese bowl that someone bought for $3 has sold for $2.2 million at auction.

In 2007, someone bought the bowl at a yard sale in New York.

Turns out the bowl was a 1,000-year-old treasure.

The ‘Ding’ bowl is an example of Northern Song Dynasty pottery.

It sold at Sotheby’s for more than $2 million.
