BRUNSWICK, Ohio- The Willetts Dance Team is a dance squad that prepares you for the high school dance team. There are 24 spots on the team that are filled up the May before the school year starts.
“You learn a dance routine and some dance crossovers such as jumping, leaping, and turning.
Then you try out in front of some judges who decide who makes it and who gets cut,” Olivia Ujlaki explained about the try outs.

The Dance Team dances at almost all of the seventh and eighth grade basketball games. Sometimes the team is even asked to perform at the High School basketball games. “When we perform at the High School games, it is really exciting for us,” explained Ujlaki.

The Dance Team practices every Monday and Wednesday for a little over an hour to help prepare them for school performances. “Sometimes we throw in a Tuesday or Thursday practice here and there if we need it,” said Ujlaki.

“My favorite part of The Dance Team is the performances! Memorizing the choreography is very challenging for me, but once I know it, I love performing it,” Ujlaki stated about the team.

The team is coached by Julie Grabowski. To find more information about the Willetts Dance Team, click here.
