CLEVELAND — The victim of a stabbing told police he was attacked by men with a golf club, tire iron, crowbar and pocket knife.

Officers were called to the 13700 block of Benwood Avenue in Cleveland on Saturday at 3:23 a.m.

According to the Cleveland Division of Police, Antonio Harris, 21, of Cleveland, had been at Joe D’s Bar at E. 131st Street and Miles where he was involved in an alteration.

When Harris was walking to his car, he said he was followed by several men, one of whom threatened to shoot him.

Police said Harris took off, but then the men surrounded his girlfriend, so he returned and confronted them.

That’s when he was attacked with the miscellaneous items.

He suffered a cut on his face and bruises all over his body and was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment.

The girlfriend was not hurt.

Initially, Harris did not cooperate and would not give officers his correct information, the Cleveland Division of Police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Fourth District Detective Bureau at (216) 623-5418.
